Most of us in modern societies look to science (at least in part) to help us understand what is right. Science after all is the modern human endeavor to understand the truth of our world. Unfortunately, the practice of science rarely lives up to the ideals of science (to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, no matter where it leads). This study is one of unfortunately far too many studies where what is reported in the abstract (the short summary of what the study is and what its results are) and in the conclusion of the study do not match with the actual information in the study.

Like the tag line from the old TV show, The 6 Million Dollar Man,” We can make our children better, faster, stronger, smarter…” And if we don’t do everything we can to that end, then we are failures as parents and we are condemning our children to be failures for the rest of their lives. This trend, called hyper-parenting by some has become disturbingly pervasive around the world.
